Description
Pair of men's gloves, in light brown kid leather with the gauntlet embroidered with polychrome silk and silver threads in a pattern of stylized birds and tulips and edged with silver thread looped fringe braid. Said to have belonged to Oliver Cromwell, who left them behind at Chard when he retreated before the advancing army of Charles I in July 1645. Part of the Burrell Collection.
